  • How do I contact the CRA for a question?

I need to ask a couple of general type questions from the CRA Canada Revenue Agency. about filing tax returns from 2013 and 2014. I can t find the answer on the website and I just get the runaround on the telephone menu. How can I speak to a human about my concerns?

(I want to know if I can print a form from their website and just fill it and fax it in for these prior years).

  • How do I stop Android keyboard from loading Japanese, Korean, etc input apps on my Moto X Play?

I have factory reset my new phone several times. I have unchecked "allow apps to auto update". Regardless, Android seems determined after a day to add to my list of apps " Google Hindu Input", "Google Pinyan Input", and several other Asian languages input apps.

I ve nothing against these languages, but I m never going to use them, and I don t want them there taking up space and resources. All I can think of doing is going under settings and and doing a disable/force stop on these... and I don t know if this is a good idea or not.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to keep these off my phone in the first place?

Also is there a better Android site to be asking this question on?

  • What's a good mobile phone for making phone calls?

I have a smart phone. fine for apps but to actually make phone calls the sound is poor, the person on the other end often asking me to repeat myself, etc. I want to replace it. I would settle for a basic flip phone if it served it's purpose in making good solid phone calls. Any recommendations?

  • Why can t I use Draino in a toilet?

I went to the store to buy Draino and there were no less than 5 different varieties, but each one said "Do not use in toilets".

Is this because the Draino is really harmful to the toilet system, or is it because the Draino manufacturer doesn t want to be liable for damage if the toilet overflows and the Draino gets on the floor?

Stringing an acoustic guitar...neatly wound vs. sloppy?

I was trying to follow an instructional video that showed how to restring a guitar.

It took me a long time to finish and the machine head posts weren't neatly wound like in the video.

See pic for how mine turned out.

Is this cosmetic only, or is there something I've lost by not having them neatly spooled on like in the video?

  • A question for locksmiths: relocking using lockpicks?

This question I suppose will be best answered by a person of the locksmith trade.

I know with experience it is possible to pick a lock open without the key using lockpicks.

Relative to the difficulty of picking the lock open, how hard would it be to use the lockpicks to re-lock the lock...would it be roughly just as difficult, more difficult, or easier to re-lock without the key?

  • Can probiotic yogurt cause diarrhea?

I understood that probiotic yogurt would remove diarrhea, but after eating some, the next day I had diarrhea. This has happened three times.

Or is there something to the "Activia 14 Day Challenge" where I have to keep eating it for 2 weeks before seeing an improvement?

(I can drink a medium glass of milk without getting diarrhea, so I figure 5 tablespoons of yogurt wouldn't trigger lactose intolerance.)

  • Nova Scotia Tenancies: Can I shut off cable, internet ?

I know that as a landlord I can get into trouble if I shut off the electricity or the water. (My deadbeat tenant has been in arrears for 3 months and he won't leave).

But can I shut off the cable TV and the internet and not get into trouble ? What about the telephone ?

And please, if your not sure of the answer to this question asked, please refrain from guessing.

(Side note: I've done everything I should have properly to evict him...provincial law has stacked the deck in favour of deadbeats and I am losing my shirt on him. I don't wish to wait MONTHS more before they finally send a Sherriff to physically remove him. Even small claims court in NS is 90% unenforceable if I win...he just doesn't pay and there's nothing I can do to make him.)

  • Serving an Eviction Notice in Nova Scotia ?

I sent an eviction notice to a deadbeat tenant by Registered Mail, but he refuses to go pick it up. He is in a city far from me.

I want to get my friend to serve him with an eviction notice. Naturally the deadbeat is going to refuse to sign anything. Is all that is required of my friend is to hand the deadbeat the envelope containing the eviction notice and say "You've been served" and then walk away ? Will I need anything else ?

The tenancy is in Nova Scotia. I'm currently in Alberta.

  • How do I format a CD-ROM disc with external drive?

I have a Samsung External DVD Writer SE-S084.

I bought a set of blank discs. Every time I try to write files to a CD-ROM I get some sort of error message, such as "Please insert a writable disc" when I use Nero. In Windows I get the message "The Disc is not writable or it is full." I believe I have to somehow format the CD-ROM but I have not been able to find a way to format the disc. How can I do this?

  • Recharging cell phone battery - daily vs. only when needed? Which extends life of battery?

My cell phone battery lasts me about 3 (three) days without charging.

I am in the habit of plugging it in every night, and I am wondering, is it better for the life of the battery to do as I am doing (daily topping up of charge), or would it be healthier for the battery if I allowed it do run down (ie only charge it every third day) ?

    Thanks!
