You can remove the pen marks with Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover. This product removes ink, even from fabric...and removing ink from leather is easier than from fabric.

Spray Krud Kutter onto a clean cloth. Then just wipe the ink right off.

You can buy Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover at Home Depot and most hardware stores. Aco Hardware usually carries it. You can also buy it over the Internet:

Make sure you use the Graffiti formula, not the Original. The Original formula doesn't work on ink.
