There is lot of difference between XP and Vista. The user interface and security are two main difference. The technical differences are beyond the scope of these pages. Windows Seven is considered as Vista upgrade.

Windows Vista performs poorly than XP on a computer with same hardware configuration. It said to be secure than XP.

7 is more lighter & performs better than Vista

They are supposed to be improvements of each other.

XP came first, then Vista, then 7.

In theory, you should get the latest one, since it's the more improved one (in terms of security, etc).

But it depends a lot on the hardware that you have. Check out the link below for a comparison:

living house windows 7 kicks ***! The courses are easily nicer! (as an occasion, MS be conscious etc) and that i additionally sense like it runs quicker (or perhaps it somewhat is purely the extra moderen pc). all the working structures are equivalent to living house windows XP (no longer a brilliant noticeable distinction) yet are easily extra polished

    Vista sucked.

    XP was alright.

Windows 7 is like how Vista should have been but on crack and 20x more orgasmic.
