Can somebody, hopefully not a girl, lol, please tell me what a cornerback is and a tailback?
I have actually played football in junior high and one year in high school as an offensive lineman (guard, tackle) but never learned the meaning of these other positions? And are they defensive or offensive team players?

Corner-back- defensive player that plays on the corner of the field to the outside of the defensive line. Covers wide receiver, supports on run defense to the outside.
Tailback- is the offensive player that is at the tail of the offensive formation. When the name was given they looked at the offensive formation like a BIRD, wide receivers were WING-backs, like the wing of the bird, Tight ends were in tight on the offensive line, Quarterback were positioned a quarter of the way from the O-line and the tailback. and the tailback was positioned were the tail of the bird would have been.

A cornerback is a defensive player, chosen for their speed to prevent the offense from completing passes to their receivers. The cornerback usually begins a play somewhat back of the line of scrimmage on the sides of the field, waiting for offensive receivers to run their pass routes to catch the ball. The cornerback has to be the fastest player on the defense to match speed with the receivers. The patrol a huge area of field, called the secondary, and are the primary protection against passing plays being completed.
A tailback is an offensive player, specifically a running back who begins each play behind the quarterback and behind another running back called a fullback. The tailback is faster than a fullback because his job is much more often running the ball through or around the line of scrimmage, evading the huge defensive linemen and linebackers. In the traditional I-shape formation, the tailback lined up furthest behind the QB, with the FB in between. A fullback is a bigger, stronger running back who occasionally runs with the ball when only short gains are needed, but more often blocks for the tailback behind him.

Cornerbacks are men that cover the recivers, the tail back can be used as another word for a runningback, but the proper use of it is when a team uses more then one running back, the tailback is the back that weighs the least

I can't give you an exact defintion of a tail back, but a cornerback is someone who is paired up with a WR and basically follows them and trys to prevent them from getting the ball, and if they do, than tackle them. Safeties do this as well, although they normally play zone coverage are in the far back.
Hope I helped.

cornerback is a person who sometimes intercepts the ball from the receiver because he is guarding him (champ bailey). A tailback is just another word for running back or fullback.(Adrian Peterson).

Are you sure that you aren't a woman in hiding? A female could tell you as good as any male assuming the female knew the sport. For you to have played, and not know, is ridiculous. Are you sure your position wasn't RBW (right bench warmer)? LOL.
