How is agnostic atheism better than plan atheism?
so an agnostic atheist isn't sure if God is real, side steps the logical fallacy, but even if God were proven by science to be real they would reject God and the religion associate with it...isn't that arrogant...

You seem to have misunderstood.
Agnostic Atheists are people that currently don't believe in God, but given the proper evidence, will believe in said God.
the opposite is a Gnostic Atheist, who even if presented with scientifically proven, solid evidence will refute the existence of God.
Most Atheists probably are Agnostic- They'll go wherever the evidence is.
In my opinion Agnosticism is the only way to go (even if you are a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc.), as even though you can believe in your religion, it is just faith, and you can never be sure.
Source(s): Your argument seems to be committing the "straw man" logical fallacy, I would kindly ask you to correct that. - Anonymous1 decade ago
What do you mean by "would reject God"? Deny his existence? I doubt atheists would do that "if God were proven by science to be real". If you mean reject the God as specifically described in the Bible, yes, he does come off as a ruthless, insincere bully and thus unworthy of any respect, let alone worship.
And what do you mean by "the religion associate[d] with it"? There are LOTS of theistic religions out there.

you dont seem to understand the term
Theist - believes in God
Atheist - no belief in God
Gnostic - Knowledge
Agnostic - no knowlege
Most peole who are Agnostic usually tend to lean toward the Theist angle or the Atheirs angle where They have no way to know either way if their is a God(s) but choose to either believe (Agnostic Theist) or choose not to believe (Agnostic Atheist)
No arrogance at all, it is a more logical stance, It is more arrogant of the person to say I KNOW THERE IS A GOD than the person that can admit that there is no way for anyone to know!!

Right now there is 0 proof of god, which any logical person knows there is also 0 for unicorns and Sata Claus, thus any logic person rejects these. Yet some people still cling to the idea god is real. isn't that arrogant?

An agnostic atheist feels that the truth value in the claim that gods exist is unknown, but disbelieves in gods anyway.
How would you propose to "prove god by science"?

Agnostic atheism is more scientific because the fundamental root of science is doubt. And because atheism and agnosticism were founded in the name of science and doubt, it's best to use both, and not claim to be cock-sure like those morons who preach creationism

Agnostic atheism is when a person acknowledges that a deity cannot be either proven nor disprove, but they personally believe that no deity exist.
That's not arrogant at all...

"but even if God were proven by science to be real they would reject God and the religion associate with it"
Yet again... Doesn't your god have something to say about lying?

Agnostic - Does not claim to have 100% knowledge of the existence of a deity
Gnostic - Claims to have 100% knowledge of the existence or nonexistence of a deity
Theist - one who believes in a deity
Atheist - one who does not believe in a deity
THUS, an Agnostic Atheist is someone who does not believe in a deity, but does not claim to have 100% knowledge that one doesn't exist.
Gnostic Atheist - does not believe in a deity and claims to have 100% knowledge that one doesn't exists.
Agnostic Theist - believes in a deity, but does not claim to have 100% knowledge that one exists.
Gnostic Theist - believes in a deity and claims to have 100% knowledge that one exists.

Thinking you know the unknowable and having all the answers - that is arrogance. It's time you examined all the false assumptions you made when you allowed someone to convince you that God exists.
