THe Descent 2: don't american producers take american people for idiots?

Question from a french filmmaker and movies fan.

The descent 2 is not the real sequel of the great film "The descent" but only the sequel of the american version of the film. Because of stupid screen-tests and the habit of being unrespectful with artists, you got a wrong ending (americanised dumb happy end) and missed the most beautiful picture (or shot maybe?) of the movie. And now, there is a sequel of a film which normally coudn't have any. And the sequel sucks.

So what do you think about it? Are you sometimes mad against american producers who decide what you should watch and what you shouldn't? Or don't you care?

Update:

I used some wrong words (producers instead of distributors).

Update 2:

Acablue: yes the first one is english (actually the director is australian) but the american distributors cut off the last scene. That's the big thing: it's not an american film and yet a scene was cut off for american people so they can be happy.

And the sequel is I think american (not sure).

Uhh, I'm pretty sure The Descent is a British film, not an American film.
