Scorpion and sleep while traveling?

My ex brother in law caught one and had it in a sealed jar and the thing lived for a week.

Beware, I heard they travel in pairs so if you see one be sure to search for its mate.

There is a thing called "Alacran" and they resemble scorpions and can make you sick but cant kill you unless you are on your deathbed.

Here is a nasty photo. They live in drainage systems so cover the shower drain and put in some doorsweeps.

I live near Guadalajara and have mucho scorpions. Couple of suggestions.

Get four good sized drinking glasses and put the legs of your daughter's bed in the glasses. Pull the bed a few inches from the wall. Scorpions can't climb on glass.

Go to a hardware store and buy Cyn-Off (it comes in a little foil package) and a 1 liter spray bottle. Mix the Cyn-Off with 1 liter of water and spray around all the windows and doors (inside and out) and along the baseboards. Pour any left over down the bathroom drains. Once it drys it is safe for pets and children. It works. If there are scorpions already in th house, you may see one or two right after you spray. Just step on them. It works for about a month.

ADD: The scorpions in and near Guadalajara are not the really serious kinds. The sting is very painful, but almost never deadly. The little ones are worse than the bigger ones. They are also slow and dumb and easy to squash.

Some cats are good scorpion killers. If the cat is fast, they can corner the scorpion and BAP it and BAP it until the scorpion is punch-drunk. Then the cat will kill it and eat it.

If you put a black light on the floor, scorpions will glow and be visible in the dark.

Before you put your shoes on in the morning, hold them upside-down and bang the heels together, so if a scorpion has crawled into the shoes, it will drop onto the floor.
