    Hi,

According to my point of view, if we had opted the presidential govt. form in India, then we were much more developed country as the country America is now........ but this we can only dream now... this would never happen in future ever..... we would always have elections and elections and keep wasting public money in it and politicians keep making black money in foreign banks......

The constitution was framed by several people after deliberations of over a year, and it was so framed that the power does not rest with the President alone. As per the Constitution,The President is supposed to act on the advise of Committee of Ministers headed by the Prime Minister. Hence It was planned in such a way that although the Country's head is the President, the de facto authority in power is the Prime Minister, and it was our Pundit Nehru who become the First Prime Minister of India. If the Power is vested with the President , we could have isolated upon the Head of the State for any mis-management or anarchy. Now we are stuck up with the Faceless Committee of Ministers who can not be identified in isolation. We are now only dreaming about becoming Shanghai instead setting an example.

Democracy has placed us where we were in 1944. Democracy is only for the name sake. Influential politicians, and business houses have been ruling the country for mutual benefits. Scams, suppression, above all is RESERVATION system on caste basis. In fact the so called Dalits who are being given priority as per per their whims appear to be in higher classes of living while educated masses and intellectuals are deprived from getting employment in Government and its undertaking Organisations. They are becoming poorer and poorer and are going below BPL ....(below poverty line) another weapon of the politicians for amassing fortunes in the name of benefits for their cause. Right from the Panchayati stage to the highest cadre of the cabinet, people have been feeling looted and deprived of their legitimate benefits. Till yester years Congress had ruled the country and made its people almost beggars. Luckily since two years India got a CHANAKYA like PM and an equally competent President who are tryig their best to do justice to the masses to show the people what does democracy and the duty of the Government mean. Advanced country like the U.S.A. could achieve the rank of being No.1 in richness following suit by many other small and medium sized countries. We have tried Democracy and became bankrupt. Why shall not we try for an alternative form of Govt. in the Presidential form now ?

The Presidential form of government would never have suited India

because if so much power were to be vested in one individual,God alone knows how responsibly or irresponsibly the person would have

acted given the mindset of our political figures. In this regard,I am reminded of Lord Acton's most famous quote :- "power tends to corrupt,

and absolute power corrupts absolutely".So,if india had opted for the Presidential form of government,it would be a surreal situation, bizarre to

say the least.Have a Good Day.
