Looking for help with crocheting a basic baby blanket?
http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=40%E2%80%A6
This is the pattern I'm using to crotchet a basic blanket. I've crocheted a handful of times, but it's been a while. I'm confused with something in the 2nd row: "Chain 4. Miss next (half double crochet, chain 2, half double crochet)."
Miss next what? If I miss the next half double crochet only to chain twice more, aren't I essentially just chaining six in a row? How do you skip an HDC when you're just doing a chain?
If someone could clarify this for me, that would be great! Thanks a lot!

I think its saying make a chain of 4 at the end of the first row. Then instead of doing the HDC into the first stitch of row one, you skip it and hdc into the next stitch. The Chain 4 at the end of row one technically counts as the first stitch of row 2. Thats about as clear as mud I know, but I can't think of another way to expain!
