why does the speller not work good?

when to chicago school.the teacher in five grade when nuts. but when to u of I they had a st-rick so I learn something,use speller it gave me st -rich I spell it (strick) do you know what I mean

    Actually, I do not know what you mean. Are you sure you went to a university?

    Anyway, as a guess, I think you put "strick" into a document and a spell-checking program gave you "strich". Both are words but are fairly uncommon; this particular spell-checker does not recognize "strick". Spell-checkers are not perfect and, as demonstrated above, do not correct grammar or word usage errors. Could you have meant "strict'?
