I need to improve my cable TV signal....please help.?
I have a 3 port splitter outside my house, one input port from service, one output port to TV approx. 7 feet away, and one more output port 60 feet away to a computer for internet.
After the computer point, I continue my coaxial run approx. 30ft. further for another older TV. IT'S AT THIS TV I HAVE SIGNAL LOSS.
Is there anything I can do to boost my signal, cable customer service said I have no signal of free air channels but the digital channels are fine. That's not true either as the digital channels are starting to pixel for short moments when viewing TV.
I would really like to add a booster of some kind or an in-line amplifier, would this help my problem?
P.S. - My cable also serves as my voice for telephone too.
THANKS

The best cable configuration is called [homerun] this means that you will have no splits or splices on the side or under your house/attic. This provides for better trouble shooting and future configuration of outlets if they are all in one centralized location, especially if you plan to add an amp to boost signal. You need to know what signal strength you have coming from the service drop/ground block. This way you can determine what the signal should be at the back of the set. Subtract the losses from the split ports and the appropriate amount for distance. Digital set top boxes or coverters should be able to function @ -10db. if you are having trouble and can't fix it your cable provider should be able to correct this issue. Chances are that the cable coax is series RG59 which drops off at 550mHz digital cable needs to have RG6 series coax which will carry signals up to 850mHz.
Long story short try running a new drop of RG6 cable straight to the tv/converter from the ground block if the problem still exists contact your cable service provider to correct the issue on their end!

The cable employer for one should not be making use of splitters. That sounds like somebody is stealing cable which might reason terrible photograph for individuals interior the section. touch your cable employer and ask with regard to the splitters.
