Has anyone managed cancel their Fasthosts account?

In July I made the mistake of opening a fasthosts hosting account. Within hours I had an issue and raised a support ticket. After 13 hours I got bored of waiting for a reply and raised another asking them to cancel the account, assuming that I would be ok under the

"distance selling act".

They are still taking money out of my account...

Probably the best thing for you to do would be to cancel whatever account they're getting the money from. There are a lot of dishonest people just waiting for unsuspecting people to sign up for their services so they steal your money. Get the account closed and then report this web site to the proper authorities so this can be handled properly. I'm not familiar with the "Distance Selling Act" you mention. But I'll bet they can get around that by insisting that you contacted them for a membership, they didn't contact you. Most business "cooling off periods" only involve protection when the seller contacts the buyer, not when the buyer seeks out a seller for a product or service. Good luck in getting this stopped and I hope you can get your money returned. You can always contact your state's attorney general for advice.
