i've been on the pill (yaz) for the past 3 years. my dad made me get on it when i was 16 ugh! but yea... I can always count on being extremely moody the week before my period. the commercials for yaz that say less cramps less moodiness are lies! i would definitely suggest the shot that you take every 3 months just because there would be less pressure on forgetting to take the pill. if the pill is your decision... avoid yaz! just some friendly advice!

I've been on birth control for about a year and a half and I love it. I had been debating about going on it for a while but when I found out that it helps with your periods and cramps I definatly decided to do it. I'm on Ortho tri cyclen lo. Your doctor will give you a script for whatever kind he/she thinks is right for you. Everyone is different and reacts differently. Some people see a change in weight..breat size/tenderness..mood swings...spotting etc but if any of these occur they will be over with within the first 2-3 months. I had no problems but this might be because I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen lo - there is a regular Ortho tri cyclen but the lo is a lower dose of the hormone. Try visiting their website they have a lot of information on their product and how birth control works..hope this helps!

It depends on who you are, some side affects are mood swings and weight gain. The weight gain would only be about eight pounds a year, but I've been on birth control for two years and I haven't gained any weight. And the mood swings only happen to me when I'm on my period. It's not a scary thing, really.

Well... birth control can help with your period cramps (makes them less painful) and also to stop becoming pregnant if you have unprotected sex / the condom breaks. These are the main two reasons people go on it.

If you look up online the forms of birth control and the information to go with them, then you'll get more accurate information.

If your periods are long they become shorter and if they are painful like craps and stuff that all goes away.

Its good if your having sex but its obviously not 100%.
