Who remembers Wellington,Maisey,Marlon and Boot and their adventure including Boot and the eyeballs in the Sky?
In the days that I read newspapers this was the highlight of the day ,superb humour with credible characters of the time, everybody knew a Marlon or Maisey.
Thanks for reminding of some of the other charecters ,I was definitely a Marlon - Why winklepicker shoes? -winklepicker feet !!

I do... they went to the rock pool, and Boot stuck his head to the water to see what was going on... and there were crabs in there who worshipped his eyes, they thought they were a god. One year, a bunch of scientist crabs designed a rocket to go up and see what the eyes were and disprove the god theory, but they were so shocked when they succeeded and saw the whole dog, I think they were converted.
But that was only one part of the fun! The Perishers... remember Fiscal Yeer and his chocolate cigars? And Wellington always trying to sell go-carts to buy sausages... Marlon with his inch-thick ketchup sandwiches, and Maisey in love with him, but he was too thick to realise/know what to do.... and don't forget Baby Grumpling, who was always doing something disgusting. And so many other characters too, there were insects and stuff, and other boys and girls...
I think I took a little after Baby Grumpling, actually...

Yay! I do!
I just loved The Perishers. So witty and so well drawn.
I managed to get a couple of the books recently. Wonderful memories.
