About CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee being the two starting pitchers in Game 1 of this year's World Series?

I almost asked the same question earlier.
If I was an Indians fan I think I'd try to see it philosophically - in both cases you got prospects in return and didn't just lose them to free agency. Let's wait three-five years to really judge those deals.
But in the meantime..yeah, ouch.

some people are sure giving you ignorant answers and I use that term very loosely. how are they so clairvoyant as to know for certain what CC Sabathia and Cliff lee *would* have done?
It's disheartening to see such talent that they had and for it to be PITCHING especially and to trade it away. They didn't get comparable value if you ask me.

Neither.
Cliff Lee and CC weren't going to be with the team when their contracts were up.
So they decided to trade them for some top notch prospects.
So no feelings should be held as you watch them. Just think "This is a good matchup."

Did the Indians once have CC Sabathia?

Anything that the Dolans touch or manage ends up in failure. Look at the NY Knicks and NY Rangers.

Well, neither one of them would've stayed there after their contracts expired, so they would've been gone anyway.
At least when they were traded they got a couple of prospects in return.
It could be worse, you could be in Pittsburgh or Washington!
