I really don't think that statistics matter in something like this...do you? The point is, if the couple gets back together to give things a try, there are clearly enough feelings between the two people to overlook whatever problems separated them in the first place and give things another shot. Maybe the issue is with how to deal with problems.
When problems come up, is the first instinct to separate? Maybe the couple just needs to learn to cope with the problems that occur in a relationship.
