Can I short sale my home & my wife buy a new one w/o getting a lien on 2nd house?

My wife is not on the original mortgage or title I bought it before we married and we still have separate bank accounts. I really want to walk away as this was the worst investment of my life. Is this an option?

You might short sale your house if your lender approves the short sale.

Yes your wife may purchase a house as long as she is able to qualify for a house with her credit and income.

If this is the case then she would have to complete a mortgage loan application so that a credit report will be available to the mortgage banker/broker. Make sure your mortgage broker is able to do FHA and VA mortgages.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
