Question about a comuter virus.?

My younger brother was on a website called 4chan last night and I think he screwed up my computer. He saved a picture, but changed the name to something like 4chan.cdm or 4chan.cmd. when he opened the picture, something ran in what looked like an old DOS prompt. he then showed me that he was banned from the site because of a "4chan.cmd virus sh*t bot". I ran a virus scan but it said my computer is clean. Not really sure what to do or if this will hurt my computer.

Update:

I have Norton on my computer already. would the AV programs here find something norton missed?

    I would restart PC in safe mode by tapping F-8 key and choosing Safe Mode with Networking. Download, update and run Malwarebytes. Check anything it finds and restart PC. Next download, update and run SuperAntiSpyware. Next download and run ccleaner. Restart PC. I would now download and run Hitman Pro to check if your system is clean.

    AVG is the best free anti-virus I have ever used. It has:

    Anti-Virus

    Anti-Spyware

    LinkScanner (scans a Google search)

    E-mail Scanner

    Resident Shield (When you search a website, it will block any viruses, spyware, etc. from getting in your computer.)

    Update Manager (Lets it automatically update so you don't have to)

    Get it all free at http://free.avg.com/

    It has been working for me since 2007 and has kept me virus free since. I highly recommend it. :)

    Download AVG free anti-virus and do a full system scan.
