What does it take to get emancipated at 16?

I have plenty of money in savings($1000+) and I'm in school. But what else would it take? I know it says you need to have a job, but I live in the country and want to get emancipated for that very reason.

I want to move back to the city for the very purpose of getting a job. And I also have a friend who is over 18, financially stable, and looking for a roommate. What are my options?

    Not all states have laws regarding emancipation. The States that do require at least the following:

    -That you are financially independent of your parents - and this could mean more than having money in savings. The judge wants to see that you are financially secure NOW and not several months from now when you have a job.

    -mature and have demonstarted ability to handle responsibility as an adult could;

    -that it is in your best interest.
