my dvd burner is not working?
when i check device manager it says it installed and working properly,but windows media player does not detect it.

Unplug it (burner), turn off the computer, turn the computer back on, turn the computer off, plug it back in, turn the computer back on, and if you are lucky and/or lived a good life, it may work.
That said, WMP is a "player" and does not burn DVD's! If you want to burn a DVD, then you need to use Windows Explorer, software that came with the DVD burner, or something like Nero...

Install the DVD(device) drivers. Then Install Nero, one of the best cd/dvd burning software.
