    No.

That 'ticket' is only required for work on equipment that uses the gas directly.

The boiler will shut down automatically if water is lost.

I would plan on replacing the radiaitor as a last resort, if you can isolate the unit ( Close Valves ) perhaps you could buy yourself some time to price out repair or replacement from your local heating plumbing contractors. By closing the valves you could run the boiler to heat the remaining radiators. If unsure how to do this call your local contractor.

No - so long as you are not interfering with the gas supply you (or whoever) can work on the rest of the system.

If you damage the pipework or rads you will empty the boiler eventually. If that happens and there is a pilot light you should shut down completely whilst repairing the leak and refilling the system to avoid damaging the heat exchanger.

the short answer is no but what is the fault ie.no heat coming through, then just bleed the appropriate radiator,if no water coming through isolate the pump by turning of the power supply and call out your gas safe engineer (no cowboys) sraight away, anything else call a plumber

    best of luck

No, not if you aren't going to fiddle inside the boiler. You just need a basic knowledge of plumbing to repair the radiator,

no.However you do need to be competent and most gas safe registered chaps are .This would eliminate the squirting water episode.

    Competent .

If this is your landlord from the other question, let him do the repairs. It's his apt./house and it's his call.

After he's done, check out his work and make sure you don't smell gas anywhere.

he would have to patch it up with that welding stuff, but why would anyone drill a hole in a radiator
