Viera 42S10 or Regza 42635db, which one is the best?

I can get the Tosh for £550, or the Panny for £650. In the shop I didn't see much difference, but that was on a Sky HD demo (Sky hd isn't exactly the most detailed of pictures is it) so I wondered whether someone could guide me here? Is the extra £100 worth the slightly sharper HD images (according to Cnet)

Update:

Thanks arc, but I am looking at the XV, not the AV.

Update 2:

In terms of specs, by the way, they are pretty much the same; The panny does 400hz as opposed to 100 (does this affect much? I heard that 100 is fine, hell, I was alright with 60 to begin with) and apparently the panny has 2,000,000:1, which is a load of rubbish to be fair because I thought that the G10b (£710, higher end version of the s10) had better blacks and that is rated the same. Added to this, I could not see any difference between the tosh and panny, and an old Bravia 40L4000 is rated at 33,000:1 and looked comparable.

I hate tv shopping :(

Thanks for future answers.

In terms of a technical sense, the Panasonic will deliver a stronger image. It should deliver better colors, blacks, and contrast. It should also handle fast motion playback better than the Toshiba.

From a practical standpoint, everyone's visual sensitivities are different. You need to check out a good quality fast moving image on both sets. So something like The Dark Knight off of BluRay. Then you can get a good idea as to whether or not you'll get much benefit from the Panasonic advantages of not (again it will vary from person to person).

I personally prefer to the image that Panasonic image processors produce. But its an aesthetic choice, not technical. And not that Toshiba is bad in any way, but Panasonic has one of, if not the, best reputation right now in reliability. That might add value/cause to spending the extra 100 quid.
