Films that show passing of time?
I'm doing an essay on the methods used in a film to show passing of time or change of time.
I need a film that I can rant about for 3000 words.
I was considering something like Forrest Gump or Goodfellas, but I'm unsure. Any other films that have a lot of time passing and different techniques that show this?
Thanks muchly.
6 AnswersMovies1 decade agoDubstep track on new MTV naked advert?
There's a new MTV advert on tv where there's loads of people walking round naked with a dubstep track in the background. I don't remember what it was advertising but it was asking you to "show your white bits" on the website or something. Any help appreciated.

2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoPS1 gory horror first person psychic game?
I used to have a demo of a game on playstation 1 - you woke up in like a morgue or something, and if I remember correctly you had some psychic powers; it was gory and it was like a horror game. I remember it well because on the demo it took us hours to figure out how to unlock the first door.
Any ideas people? I'd love to play it.

1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoAnywhere to buy a wrist or arm mounted wireless keyboard?
I need a wireless keyboard to control my computer, but it needs to be mounted on my wrist like they have in the military. Anywhere you can buy these? I can find ONE wired one, but they only sell to the US, and another is much too expensive because it's the real deal.
Will I just have to buy a tiny bluetooth one and adapt it into some sort of wrist form factor or are these available anywhere?
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoViera 42S10 or Regza 42635db, which one is the best?
I can get the Tosh for £550, or the Panny for £650. In the shop I didn't see much difference, but that was on a Sky HD demo (Sky hd isn't exactly the most detailed of pictures is it) so I wondered whether someone could guide me here? Is the extra £100 worth the slightly sharper HD images (according to Cnet)

Cheers.
4 AnswersTVs1 decade agoArtists who do propaganda posters, 50's art?
For A2 art I need to collect some artists who did sort of propaganda artwork, "Britons needs you" etc etc.
I am looking for that type of retro 50's look like you get on those spoof posters, with things like this;

Also, the kind of thing Fallout 3 spoofs would be good to have. I need both artists and pictures though, so feel free to provide either.
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerOther - Visual Arts1 decade agoWhat is that disco version of an orchestral classical song?
I need to know, I heard it the other day but cannot remember how it goes. It used to be used quite a lot, and it's sort of a disco version of a classical piece.
4 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoWill an unlocked LG Viewty ku990 work with a contract 3 sim card?
The phone that came with the contract broke, so I want to buy a new phone. I am just wondering whether I can buy a viewty, unlock it myself, and have it work fine with my 3 sim card. I do not use the internet or MMS, just texts and calls.
2 AnswersMobile Phones & Plans1 decade agoGood home cinema 7.1 reciever for like £300. Support for Bi Amping a must.?
I need to buy a new home cinema reciever. Minimum specs are these:
7.1 channel, binding posts. HDMI 3 only required inputs, 1 output.
I will be using it for 5.1, but I want to use the 2 spare connectors to Bi Amp my stereo fronts.
Support for Linear PCM, since ps3 will decode DTS and Dolby HD.
Good sound quality, of course. I have Mordaunt Short MS914i's, MS905C, and MS903 rears. Anything to suit those? The aluminium drivers I hear provide a good detailed sound, but I have yet to hear it as my amp was pre bought with a full system so no customisation and it's pretty poor quality.
Any suggestions people, but I do tend to skew towards Onkyo as I've heard good things from them.
3 AnswersHome Theatre1 decade agoHow long before you can book a practical driving test after taking theory?
I'm trying to book a practical test after passing my theory yesterday, but when I enter my license number they say that they can't find it. Is there a period you have to wait until you can book or what? I tried to book another theory to see if it was just the practical, but it also says on there that they cannot find my license number. It IS correct.
Any help here?
1 AnswerInsurance & Registration1 decade agoPS3 Firmware update 3.00 disabled playback of music while doing other functions?
After updating, I now cannot press the PS button to exit playback while still having my music playing.
Before, I had my sound settings to accept all of the 2CH up to 176khz, and it would play mp3's at 48khz, which was fine (CD's played at whatever they were recorded to).
Now though, it defaults to 44.1 for mp3s, unless I select higher. It even defaults if only 44.1 and 48khz are selected. Annoyingly, I can't disable 44.1 OR 48khz, which is apparently the fix for it.
Any help?
1 AnswerPlayStation1 decade agoForce the 360 to send the audio over HDMI and the video over the standard composite cables?
I need a way to force my 360 to send the DD5.1 audio over the HDMI cable into my reciever, and the video over the standard composite cables that came with it. This only just became a problem after moving the home cinema into a room with an SDTV. I would just use an optical cable, but I don't want to pay for another one or keep switching over from my sky box; my PS3 allows you to do it just fine so why not the xbox? (*sigh*).
I tried the AV cable hack where you take off the plastic case so you can fit both in, but when I tried it it just switched over to HDMI video again and, as such, I receive no picture.
2 AnswersXbox1 decade agoPS3 plays blu rays in black and white on a standard definition television?
I've moved my home cinema setup upstairs into my bedroom, which has an old Sharp SDTV running through AV MultiScart. I set my PS3 to output the audio to my amp so that I could benefit from Dolby TrueHD atleast, even if (so I thought) I had SD picture quality. However, my ps3 plays my blu rays in black and white. I've looked at forums and they are no help because there simply doesn't seem to be a real answer, and half the time they say to "plug in the component cables again", which seems ridiculous because component is a HD support cable, right? Why would people be using component on an SDTV?
Any help here? Don't tell my to buy a HDTV, because I: A, have no cash, and B: don't know whether to buy a 40" or a smaller 32" so I don't have to downscale for uni next year.

2 AnswersLondon1 decade agoSome good health care products from Holland and Barrett that actually work?
I am starting to feel a bit more lazy nowadays and feel less confident with myself, so I have decided to get a few nutrients into me and exercise a bit more.
Are there any good H&B products that I can just take in with a nice glass of water? I'm looking for something that will give me some healthy feelings and energies, not like a sugar rush. I want something to make me feel more human and less "flumpy".
I also have some scarring on me which I would kind of like to get rid of; are there any nutrients that would help the healing process? My skin gets kind of dry at points so I use a moisturiser to help with my eczema, is there a H&B pill I can pop to help out?
Thanks :)
2 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoSky+ HD Multiroom free or any extra charges?
We have a HD box downstairs and a + box upstairs, so if I buy another HD box for upstairs will I recieve the HD channels?
I ask because I thought that the multiroom is just an exact copy of the existing subscription, so thought that if I am paying for HD on the main subscription that I will get it on my multiroom subscriptions aswell.
Is this true or will Sky have to add some more ridiculous charges for me to get HD in another room?
