Films that show passing of time?

I'm doing an essay on the methods used in a film to show passing of time or change of time.

I need a film that I can rant about for 3000 words.

I was considering something like Forrest Gump or Goodfellas, but I'm unsure. Any other films that have a lot of time passing and different techniques that show this?

Thanks muchly.

Requiem for a Dream uses a technique known as "time-lapse photography." It makes things look almost fast forwarded. You should really watch it. In addition to having that effect, it's a great but disturbing film. Not for the weak minded!

Here's the trailer, you can kind of see what I am talking about. You need to watch it to fully understand what I mean though. The director uses it a lot.

Even if you don't like the screen going black and showing the text that is really one of the best ways to show that a large portion of time has gone by but you could also try making the text go over the next scene, like keeping the video rolling but just add text in between the transition of the two scenes.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Brad Pitt's character ages backwards. This should be something interesting to talk about in an essay.
