i replaced a broken processor and the pc wont boot?
i think i need to flash the bios but i cant use the old processor becouse the pins are broken off... they broke off when i tryed to remove the heatsync and the processior came with it... i was told it was common with that pentum 4 socket... but i got a new one that an exact match and the computer still wont boot any ideas?

I...erm...wow...you pulled the heatsink off WITH the processor attached and broke the pins? I would take a longshot and say you damaged the motherboard in the proccess. But you might as well check the basics: Is it seated properly? Did you bend any pins when putting it in? Did you latch it down? Adequate thermal compound between the heatsink and the cpu die? Do you have everything plugged in? RAM seated correctly? PSU working? You shouldnt need to change any bios settings if you got the same exact model. Hell, even if you didnt and its still an intel it would work. Putting my money on the motherboard.

hi, somewhat extra information could be a huge help. Which make and form of motherboard is it? Are you employing an on board pics or a separate card. purely mail me with the information and that i will attempt and help. Arnak
