Is Sims 3 better than Sims 2?

Will I be able to produce more interaction between different households? I've heard there are changes in time syncing. How does that work?

Update:

I'm specifically interested in any changes in how time works.

    F*** YES...I have all sims 2 expansions and stuff packs and i also have the sims 3 and it is still A LOT BETTER. You can just walk around the ENTIRE neighborhood and with no loading screen. IT F*** ROCKS.

    I think Sims 3 is better because the people look more realistic and there is more to do. You can give them different qualities, and pick what type of person you'd like them to be.

    yes it has more clothes more items to choose from and you can pick who your character is and how they act you can give them colored streeks and traits.

    but on my computer sims 2 goes faster than sims 3. but i still like sims 3 better

    no sims 3 sucks. its too hard and sims 2 is a lot cooler and easier to use
