Will you ban doing business with Home Depot to stand for God and Country?

Home Depot in Florida fired a young man for wearing a pin that reads "One Nation under God". They love to take your money that has printed on it One Nation under God but apparently you cant wear a pin stating that. Since they hate the phrase so much we should help them to never seeing it again by not spending our currency at HD. No Christian should step foot in Home Depot from this point on. Will you join with others and call Home Depot to cancel your credit cards and voice your opinion ???? I did. What are your thoughts on this.

Update:

for those stating its company policy its not. I am all for dress codes but Home Depot offered him a different pin to wear so obviously pins are allowed. If any of you ever stepped in a HD you would see their young employees have pins, rubber slogan bracelets and magic marker drawings all over their aprons. So clearly anyone with any intelligence can tell that its not a uniform policy.

Update 2:

Sorry about the intelligence part in the prior comment, I realize that doesnt make one dumb but it clearly states that he would have been allowed to wear a different pin.

Also I highly disagree with his suing HD over this.

This young man was told it was against policy and defied the policy. He was fired for insubordination.

Same thing would happen to me if i repeatedly violated the policies of the university. Well actually it wouldn't because I am tenured, but they could relegate me to an ineffective status and remove me from the classroom and research programs.

He was fired for just cause and Home Depot supports many humane causes in this world.

    I'll still shop there.

No. They have rules, and employees who don't follow the rules can go elsewhere. Too many people need jobs for HD to have to deal with that. I like Home Depot. Most of the people I know, and that includes Christians, say they did the right thing, and I see it that way too. There's much more to the story than what you state.

By the way, Home Depot supports Habitat for Humanity, and our mission of building homes for those in need, and they often donate materials for the cause. What are you doing to make the world a better place? .

Should I stop doing business with Home Depot because they finally enforced a rule that the guy was breaking? Don't think so. He agreed to the uniform when he decided to take the job. He violated that policy and refused to rectify it when given the chance. Do you think God supports breaking the rules because the pin mentioned him and the country rather than, say, had a swastika on it? Further, I'd like to know where this guy's integrity is. He agreed to follow the rules, then broke them, and then was indignant when he was told to fix and was ultimately fired.

If anything, the manager who let that go on for over a year should have been formerly reprimanded.

Home Depot had a policy about pins and the guy violated it. If you think it's okay to behave self-possessed and like rules don't apply to you because you're Christian, you're not only NOT a good Christian, but you're wrong.

I had actually sworn off Home Depot while they were sponsors of Trading Spaces and that wicked hack Hilda. I guess it's time to start going again.

NO. Again, for the millionth time, he was fired for violating company policy. It had nothing to do with the contents of the pin. In fact, I'm going to do all my home improvement shopping at Home Depot just to spite you idiots.

Home Depot will get the same amount of business from me it always has. God should have nothing to do with country any way.

No I wouldn't boycott HD. I go there to for tools and things for my home, not for religion. I go to church for that and don't expect the rest of the world to follow my beliefs. If they don't want people displaying religious messages it is their right to not allow it. They are not telling people that they are not allowed to be Christian, simply that they just don't want religious messages in their stores. To me the most important tenant of Christianity is tolerance. It seems to me that you and most other Christians lack that. If you were tolerant and followed the teachings of Christ you would respect the fact that they don't want the message displayed even though you disagree with it. It is your right to boycott them if you wish, but don't expect the rest of the world to do as you do and take a closer look at what it is you claim to believe.

Actually I stopped doing business with Home Depot years ago because of crappy service.

But all of this fuss over nothing is making me think of going back.

did you not bother to read the damn news report he was fired because he did not follow the company's policy on their uniforms i can't wear i am a atheist on my uniform because it is against the department rules same rule can't have anything on my uniform unless it was given to me.

"That's not our place to say, which is exactly why we have a blanket policy, which is long-standing and well-communicated to our associates, that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn on our aprons."

It makes me WANT to shop at Home Depot frankly. I'd also vote for taking that phrase OFF of our money as well. IT doesn't belong there.
