Other ways of cardiovascular training than running?

I am having my toe nails shortened soon so i wont be able to run for 2-3 weeks, and i need to keep on top of and improve my cardiovascular fitness over the next 2 months because im due to start basic trainng for the Army. Therefore what other ways other than biking would be for this, bearing in mind it cannot involve my feet/toes holding too much pressure. And swimming is not an option either.

Thank you in advance!

Nothing is going to work that well if you have to leave your legs out of the picture. Your legs have the largest muscles in the body, which is why things like biking and running are so effective. Swimming is the best as it includes your legs with the rest of your entire body.

    Now having said that...

There is such a thing as a stationary arm bike. I've used one when in rehab for a shoulder surgery.

Also any calisthenic exercise done with minimal rest in between would work, push ups, followed by sit ups, followed by squats and so on.

If you have a home gym setup use light weights and run through what the machine can do, shooting for a weight that will let you do 20 to 25 reps three times each again with no more than a minute in between exercises. Best of Luck

Any aerobic exercise (such as running, swimming, or biking) for at least 20 minutes. If your throat is dry then drink some water. I also have (allergy and sports induced) asthma. Taking my inhaler as prescribed certainly helped me. I now get allergy shots and the asthma doesn't seem to be a problem. Just keep working hard, good luck!

If you have access to a rowing machine it is a GREAT cardiovascular workout and it wouldn't put much pressure on your feet.

Boxing --- speedbag or heavy punching bag. You just won't be able to move around on your feet as much due to the limitations on your feet

    1) Do lots of easy push ups...you know the easy ones that girls do on their knees.

    2) Shadowboxing

    3) SEXXXD
