Health care, cap &trade and illegals in the usa?

I don't care what party you belong too or if your liberal or conservative. I;m more interested in how you feel if all three of these items are initiated by the current administration, it will effect you 5 years from now! I would also like you to fill in just a little information about yourself so I can get an idea on how I stand compared to others.

1) over or under 25 yrs old

2) income over or under $50,000. usd

3) full time employed?

4) full time student?

5) career field and are you working in it now?

6) children?

7) when making decisions in politics do you try to look at the long term picture ( where you will be in say 5-10 years) or short term( the situation your in now)?

Update:

ok, what I notice here is that those who are full time workers tend to be worried about cap and trade effecting the economy. Those in school or working part time seem not worry about it.

Update 2:

one from Canada seems to indicate that there is always a funding problem with social health care. I find this interesting, because I fear that social health care will become a burden on the backs of the working class within 10 years.

Update 3:

Those with childern seem concerned with illegal border crossers, well students and those with out kids seem to indicate they are fine with undocumented border crossers in our country.

It really depends on what health care reform looks like as to whether or not it's a good thing. I do believe the current path is NOT sustainable. Anyone who looks at the numbers would have to be a lying idealog not to agree.

I seriously hope cap and trade dies for the time being. After the economy recovers, we might want to take a hard look at better efficiency in energy usage. We need an area poised for growth to exploit. Information services isn't going to last forever.

If we don't secure the border, everything else is pointless. One thing at a time. We have to convice Washington, Democrat and Republican, that we won't stand for the open borders any longer. We vote with our votes people, lets find OUR candidates and support them with our time, our money and our votes.

Health care - should be universal, here in Canada we need more money going to health care. in my province we are wasting tax dollars on olympics and now a new roof for a stadium, and under funding health care.

Cap & Trade - I have always liked cap & trade, but am afraid energy companies would use it as an excuse to hike up rates more than necessary (necessary being 3-5%). It will limit pollution and creates a new form of trade that can only benefit the economy.

Illegals in the US - If America had a better worker program many wouldn't have to be illegal, they could be temporary and work and pay taxes. The system is the problem, not the immigrants. Immigrants have a fear of the system, and that is why they go around it. Imagine a system so bad that you would rather work for less with no employee rights.

How do you initiate "illegals in the USA?"

I think health care reform of any kind needs to include tort reform, invesment in technologies to make medical services cheaper, and greater incentives for people to BE HEALTHIER. Without huge efforts on those fronts, there is no solution to the health care dilemma.

I think cap and trade is unnecessary if we just stop subsidizing Big Oil and enforce the incentives to use less. Go see "Who Killed the Electric Car?" Also, geothermal has gigantic upsides, as does wind in WY/MT/CO and tidal in CA/OR/WA/AK. Invest in those, undermine the stranglehold Big Oil has on us, and we'll be on the right track, and then there'd be no need for Cap and Trade.

Someones health shouldn't depend upon the size of their paycheck. We all pay taxes for equal access to things such as public roads, services (police, fire), education through high school, etc., so why the sudden uproar over paying for equal access to health care/services?

Cap and trade is an idea of which I only know the basics, but I agree with the premise - we (America) need to catch up to the rest of the world on environmental quality.

There's no such thing as an illegal. You and I had just as much chance of being born in America as any Mexican, Cuban, etc. did and vice versa. I don't see why they should be punished for that.
