Are you sure air was rushing out and not in?

Check that the water loop is filled and pressurized.

Check that feed valve is open and the water make-up valve has pressure.

There will be a pressure gauge on the boiler.

There should be enough pressure when the system is cold to fill the

piping system.( At least 6 PSI per floor.)

If no air or water is coming out then there is no pressure in the system. This means that the cold feed from the expansion tank is blocked or the ball valve has jammed.Check the small water tank in the attic is full and check for water coming out the ball float valve. If the tank is full then you need a good plumber/heating engineer.

If your heating system is sealed then there will be a pressure gauge somewhere, either on the boiler or near it.If this is the case then you will need to make sure the system has enough pressure in it to work, normally around 1 bar.If the system needs filled then there will be a filling loop somewhere, normally under the boiler. They are normally made from a braided metal hose with a valve at each end.Open the valves till the pressure rises to 1 bar,no more than 1.5. bar.

extra advantageous than possibly, you have an air lock someplace interior the pipes routed upstairs. attempt bleeding the upstairs radiators on an identical time as the gadget is switched on and the pump working yet be careful to catch any water that emerges from the bleed factor and be waiting to close the bleed nipple at as quickly as. in case you will discover out it is the 1st upstairs radiator to be piped from downstairs, start up with that one first If this does not remedy the priority, (a) examine the radiator thermostats in case you have them equipped. Are all of them unfolded? (b) Is the upstairs gadget controlled via a separate thermostat which switches a motorised valve? if so, examine that the thermostat is desperate for a extra physically powerful temperature. If this nevertheless fails, pay attention to, and watch, the correct motorised valve (regularly placed on the factor of the boiler). See in case you may detect that it is working whilst the thermostat is grew to become up or down. you would be able to could have an automated bleed valve suited for the pipe going upstairs if the priority persists or if it misbehaves often. maximum suitable of success.

Turn your boiler on, then do the following.

There will be a nipple under your thermostat and I think that this is sticking. Remove the thermostat from the radiator with a spanner and tap the nipple with the spanner until the nipple moves freely... Replace the thermostat and turn it up to maximum...

If this fails turn off the radiators which are heating, turn your boiler up to maximum heat, then turn the radiators which are heating off.. If the offending radiator heats up, leave the other radiators off for a few hours and this should resolve your problem.

The system has to be on and heating to bleed it correctly and it can take a long time have patience it may go thru periods of getting cold then hot this is a good sign keep going until it stays hot there is no easy way it just takes time.

Not what you wanted to here but.

its makes really good sense to turn the heat on when you do this or no water will bleed out the system period
