Avira Antivirus Won't Update?
It starts out like this:
Connecting with http://dl5.avgate.net./
Please wait....
Then goes to:
Updater is starting applications
Please wait...
And then you think it's updating and it comes up:
Internet connection failed
I'm obviously connected TO the internet. So what could be the issue? It's done this before but not for a while. Apparently, it's not updated since the 26th of October. What should I do? I can't figure out how to use the Avira site at all or where anything is on it.
I don't want a new one. Avira has been so good about taking care of my computer. I want to update it.
I also have dialup so it's not easy for me to just say "Oh! I don't like this download! Lets do a new one!"

This is a common problem with Avira. I used it for about a month and a half and had that issue 3 or 4 times for more than 24hrs. I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials which has gotten real good reviews from
everywhere. See below for details-
