In the late 1960's most engines were running on 89 octane regular leaded fuel........and 50:1 TWC-2 oil was mixed 50:1 that's 1 pint per 6 gallons. In the 70's and 80's this remained unchanged. By the 1990's the ratio was still 50:1 but unleaded fuel was the rule and the octane was more like 87. In the 2000's we have E-10 fuel, and TWC-3 oil. I'd be more concerned with the E-10 than the oil.....so 50:1 is recommended, but I'd go for the highest octane fuel I could find. Good Luck!
