Liberals in government and liberals in the main stream media protect Obama and baby him. Both groups bashed George Bush for eight years. I don't see gasoline prices getting much bad publicity.

Let's see, you as a conservative oppose government intervention in anything and yet you seem to be calling for a government take over of the oil industry in order to control prices. Gas prices are control by the very free market that conservatives claim to worship. I live in a state with large oil reserves and there is drilling going on every where. And you know what? The wells being drilled are being capped because the market price of a barrel is to low. Go figure.

Oh ye internal combustion engine slaves... don't you get it? Electric cars are going to take over. We won't need the gasoline. Gasoline leaves toxic carcinogenic fumes in the air. We are living at the end of the age of the internal combustion engine. Saying "drill baby drill!" is like saying "IBM Selectric typewriters!" in the age of computers. Higher gas prices aren't going to help but with the increasing use of hybrid cars and electric cars (some of which are high performance vehicles with more torque than any gasoline powered car could ever manage) the price of gas is going to be something that won't matter much because fewer and fewer people will be using it.
Besides, it would take 7 years of drilling and exploration to make a difference in the oil supply. And wasn't it under Bush that gasoline reached prices of over $4 a gallon?

I'm more concerned about how it will hurt the people in this staggering economy. If you'll remember, gas prices were one f the things that went through the roof when the democrats took over congress, contributing to the economy reversing and going into a recession. The steady increase in gas prices again will once again slow the economy and harm the poorest segment of the population the most.
No, it will probably not help them in 2012 unless they can spin it and claim the high prices are another thing the government needs to control, thereby justifying another government takeover.

The world has spent the last 100 years building on Fossil fuels and Obama thinks he can change that in 5 years--HA!!!
Even at $5.00 a gallon, gasoline is still one of the best and cheapest fuels.
Will price increases hurt--Sure, but are you actually ready to spend $50,000 for an auto that goes 50 miles before it dies and has to be recharged for 8 hours--most of the worlds population make less than $2,000 per year so the answer is NO! the world will not leave fossil fuel for decades.

I agree completely. Whenever the oil companies get the chance to drill here, they always do. FACT.
Why won't 0bama let us drill here?
It's not like they have 68 million acres that they have and refuse to drill or something. FACT.
Do not read this. It is a LIE. FACT.

Remember the last time gas prices when thru the roof? It was when ninny pelosi promised if democrats got control of congress , they would Lower gas prices from $2.00 per gallon. then , magically, gas prices were "lowered" from $2.00 per gallon to $4.25 per gallon. Obama has made no bones about it. he would love to add another $1.00 per gallon gas tax. To obama it would be just another way to have lied about his "no more taxes on those making less than $250,000" that he has broken over and over already.

Within a few years most Americans will drive cars powered by bio diesel made from algae. The cost per gallon will be measured in terms of dimes, not dollars.

I want to know why Obama decided to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil, and other nations. Especially when he and other leftists are against drilling for oil, since it promotes "global warming".
