Question about sale of goods act?

My PS3 broke recently and I knew about the sale of goods act vaguely and researched it.

However I'm still unsure about something. If I go back to the shop I bought it from, and say it broke for no reason or whatever, will they check to see if it is broken or whatever or will they give me my money back with no questions?

The Sale of things Act 1979 ensures products would desire to be of passable high quality and in good shape to do the pastime meant for them. in good shape for objective skill the two usually e.g. hi-fi audio device would desire to play music yet in addition specially for any objective you have asked. E.g. in case you have asked ‘will they in good shape my Hitachi hi-fi?', and been advised definite, even with the undeniable fact that it would not then it wasn't in good shape for the objective focused. examine products and ***** on the instant. the quantity of time you will desire to be certain no rely if products are defective relies upon on what's clever for that product. E.g. it takes longer to envision a speedboat than a kettle. even with the undeniable fact that for the period of fact you rather would desire to attempt and ***** interior each and every week. the place the products are defective, take them returned interior 6 months and the save has to tutor they weren't defective once you obtain them. After 6 months you would be able to desire to tutor they have been defective once you obtain them. via regulation you have as much as six years to make a criticism, yet this would not mean products would desire to final six years, they might desire to final what maximum individuals would planned to be a ‘clever' length of time. If there is an argument over no rely if the products are defective or no longer – the load of info is on the shopper, i'm afraid.

In fairness to all parties, i think it would be best that you can just ask for a new unit or they will repair it free of charge hoping that it is still within warranty period. All items sold in our country is covered with warranty regardless even if the seller says its without warranty.

You can ask for help from the DTI office if seller will not honor warranty and they will be penalized for it. Just make a complaint with DTI so that the seller will be forced to honor warranty coverage (make sure to keep your original receipt).
