Why do you hunt defenseless animals?

Is it a power trip?

Do you just like to kill?

There is no point to a gun other than to kill so why do you hunt?

Update:

Why not go kill an animal with your bare hands???? Or are you too scared and have to hide behind a gun???

    Good food.

BTW do you realize that if deer populations weren't controlled with hunting they would over populate and starve to death by the thousands. Other animals would also suffer that eat the same food.

Humans can believe the strangest things. Look at India where animals are sacred and worshiped. If you teach a child something and others reaffirm it they will believe it. The animal right people play on this. They are active in every educational institution in the USA. But we don’t have people teaching them that animals are ok to use for food, research, medicine and other products, in our schools do we? So kids are being brainwashed to believe animals are thinking, feeling, intelligent creatures that deserve the same rights we have. Then we have all the cartoons, movies, books and other media also brainwashing them. Every day I see this anger at the animal rights people. But I never see anyone willing to make movies, books and educational material to teach kids the real facts about animals. How many organizations are there going to schools to counter the animal rights people? How many times do you see a spot on TV about the real truth of animals? How many billboards do you see educating the public about the truth on animals? Yet I see the public bombarded with this constant push for animal rights and how terrible hunting, trapping and fishing is. And yet we wonder why there is so many, as you put it “crazy anti hunting hippies”? Its because we are failing to teach these kids the truth. We sit back and complain. And we do nothing to change it. Changing this, means getting organized and shelling out cash and creating organizations to battle this insanity, if we do nothing this will just get worse. The reason its as bad as it is, is because we didn’t do enough. The rate this anti-hunter thing is growing means we will be vastly outnumbered in our government, our schools and the voting booths. We could very well see the end of hunting as we know it if we don’t get off our azz and do something fast! But I will bet you 20 bucks that there will NOT be a huge organization of hunters to educate the public. Because too many are in denial of what a real threat this is to their way of life. And by the time they do understand it will be too late.

Hunting is used as a management tool. It helps control populations, like white-tailed deer. Someone has to do it. There is a great deal more to hunting than shooting.

If you eat meat you are as guilty of killing that defenseless cow as is the guy that shoots a deer. The difference is you hire someone to do your killing. You are still responsible for the death of that cow. OK? So is killing a cow a power trip for you? Do you just like to know a cow died to feed you? Guns kill cows also. Enjoy that burger.

    1. They taste good, and are much healthier than the hormone laden, genetically engineered, irradiated stuff you can buy in the grocery store.

    2. Have you ever seen the inside of a slaughter house? Enough said.

    3. Conservation. Because of mans intrusion and paving of the natural world, including the reduction of natural predators (and don't kid yourself, humans have been predators for tens of thousands of years) it is required for control of healthy populations. Without hunting animals would over populate and destroy their environment, and disease would run rampant. Humans are the only viable predator left.

In order for the other predators to come back to levels capable of controlling animal populations, humans would have to leave the planet. Unless you have a spaceship in your back yard, and somewhere to go to, then that would mean we would all have to die. We'll follow your lead.

It's what nature intended, deal with it. Plus it's a healthy pass time.

There are also lots of reasons to have guns, like:

    for hunting

    for sport shooting

    defending yourself

    defending your family

    defending your property

    defending your neighbors

    defending your country

because it's your God given right.

Why do you kill and eat defenseless vegetables? Do you know how many defenseless ground dwelling creatures are harmed during the planting and harvest of your vegetables? Oh, you are not a vegetarian? I guess it is better to raise and slaughter an animal, than to instantly kill one with a gun. Hmmmmm, been to a slaughterhouse lately? Not pretty.....

    * " The Mark of your Ignorance is the Depth of your Belief." Hunting is Fun and Enjoyable, Recreational, and Entertaining; Killing is neither Fun, Enjoyable, Recreational, or Entertaining to us True Hunters who hunt and harvest Wild Game for Food and Sport for Ourselves, Family, Friends, and Fellow Hunters.".." No True Hunter derives any pleasure or satisfaction from the Killing alone of any of the Animals that he Hunts for and Harvests.".. You are sadly and badly mistaken in your beliefs about Hunting, and the Sport of Hunting.*..You have a lot to learn before you can justify, criticizing, condemning, and complaining about Hunting and people who choose to Hunt.*

I do not hunt to kill, I kill because I have hunted.

Incidentally I don't only hunt defenseless animals. I have personally hunted cape buffalo, and the #1 killer in Africa the hippo. Those aren't defenseless animals.

I'm gonna try to be polite about this, but back off.

we in the hunting forum have been spammed and mocked by people like you for too long, I have a question for you, why do you think you have any right to stop us?

    power trip?

no..... for food and the thrill of hunting, like any other sport, it's physically demanding and fun, if you don't like it, mind your own business and do your thing, we're not forcing you to hunt, so why force us not too??

    do we just like killing?

for most of us, no, most of us show respect to the animal when hunting, not like slaughter houses that are there to make money and don't care for suffering of the animal, they cut the animal's throat when fully conscious and living, leaving it to die a painful and agonizing death, usually when a hunter shoots an animal, it has no idea what happened due to the speed of the bullet/arrow, then shock sets in quickly, the animal starts feeling funny, falls over and passes out, soon succumbing to it's wounds painlessly, hunters make less mistakes then slaughter houses do, that is a fact, so maybe we should ban slaughterhouses and go back to the bullet to the head, the animal never notices a thing.

there is no point to a gun other than to kill?

wrong, many people carry firearms for self defence against muggers and other threats, including our governments, saving lives of others that would otherwise be dead.

others own guns for sentimental value and collect-ability, some of these guns are never fired.

another thing is target shooting, there are many people who own guns that have never hunted and will never hunt in their lives, they like the sport for what it is, shooting at a target, possibly even from long ranges, making it a challenge to the would be shooter, making it fun and enjoyable.

I still can't understand why organizations like PETA and Sea Shepard want us to stop hunting, something we've been doing since the dawn of man, it's not uncivilized, look at what meat processors do, they often leave a animal dieing in it's own feces instead of simply putting out of it's misery, letting it just sit there and die a horrible death, one bullet is often enough to stop a animal dead, releasing it from suffering and in turn not causing suffering, learn some facts before trying to put us down for doing something we love, cause we're not leaving.

    A power trip? hahahahahaha

Just like to kill... well, I got to have something to hunt since it's illegal to hunt PETA people and anti-gun people.

There IS a point to a gun besides hunting.. its to protect me and I find shooting a gun enjoyable.. not like you'd know what fun is because you have your head so far up your @$$.

everything you eat has been killed.the hunter has actually done some work for his food.you,on the other hand, have no idea how easy it was for the slaughterhouses to kill your food.

there are many hunters who go out in search of meat for their freezer and come back empty handed. I'd like to offer you a point to ponder.most likely your forefathers hunted for their daily food.had they not done that, you would not be alive today because they would have died from starvation.the excuse that people no longer need to hunt doesn't apply, either.your commercially processed meats are filled with anti-biotics,steroids and growth hormones that are not present in nature.people of your view should respect the view of the opposite side of the issue as well.

way back when, you had to hunt to live and survive, as fast as our human population grows, there would be abundate amount of wild animals eating you flowers in your front yard if we didnt hunt. And its always fun to eat what you have killed, it always taste good, you eat chicken? hamburger? pork? they are all defenseless also.. get up with it... grab your self a gun and go kill your self a deer and mount it up on the wall while you eat your deer jerky, its a good feeling.
