harry potter better than twilight?

Both book sets are okay, though I think everything falls into place too easily for Harry.The Twilight books are good (but the movie sucked) but I don't think you can really compare Harry Potter with Twilight because they aren't written for the same fan base.

Well, I wouldn't be able to truly answer because I never read all of the Harry Potter books and I have read all the Twilight ones. I don't really think there is a big compitition here, I loved Twilight for some time but I still believe that Harry Potter is clearly better. It is written by a more developed and intelligent auther and Twilight lacks the strength it has, Twilight and some of the other novels (Breaking Dawn in particular-i hated it) have many plot holes and the author goes back on what she has said before, just so she can make a story ie.Bella getting pregnant, she said before it was impossible. Harry Potter also has a bigger, more mature fan base. Twilight is packed with 12-13 year old girls and their only obsession with the novel is Edward. They don't love the book for what it is or the story that was created, they love it for one or two characters. Harry Potter's fan base isn't packed with crazy fan girls and thats what makes it better. The childish teens that started liking Twilight is what turned me away from it. I'm thinking of reading all of the Harry Potter books, then I can really say which one I enjoyed better.

Harry Potter is the best, no competition. HP has depth, morals, and a great story all the way through the book. J K Rowling is a genius. Twilight is written to entertain young girls with fantasies. Twilight is okay, but nowhere near deserves all the attention. If fans want other people to take Twilight seriously, then at least show that you can spell half the words you're typing.

Harry Potter will live on forever.

This is isn't really an answer, but an opinion.

Luckily, I've read the two books you compared (Harry Potter; Order of the Phoenix, Prisoner of Azkaban and The Philosopher's Stone) and twilight (first version only), I will start with Twilight.

Twilight is a really really good book, and most of all i liked it because of it's 'first person type' and the author always say I or me. And because of that, I can feel the emotions and passions of the scene (though i didn't like the movie much) The storyline is really good, Everything's connected to each other and make sense. 4/5 is my ratings. Stephenie Meyer is my ideal writer, though,

Harry Potter, let's say, double twilight, triple new moon, and single eclipse will match it. I liked it even though it wasn't in first person. Even the characters are too many (w/c is very good) J.K Rowling matched and did his very best upon making it. Every moment is exciting and when I read the middle part of the Order of the Phoenix I want to read as fast as i can and even turn pages i haven;t read just to witness or to know what happened after that, it's imaginable, the world of magic had been my world too when I met Harry. 5/5 is my rating, And for me, J.K Rowling is the best writer this modern time and old times ever had.

Now, you see my point of view? Look at the positive parts first before the ugly parts and you'll enjoy it, one replied to your answer harshly and she proved it, well what matters is our opinion so let it be.

I really dont liek how people compare both...they really have nothing to dow ith each other, except that they are very good books and movies. Im seriously in between...i love both...there is nothing that says to choose either side.

Twilight is only hated usually because guys know they are being compared to edward and jacob...etc...charries form the movie...by girls... twilight has action and i reallyd ont see why its such a problem for guys...im sure a little romance doesnt make anyone sleep during a movie...

Harry potter has many twists and turns...very much more fantasy...and i was a fan ever since i was 8 years old. I seriously love harry potter and i find it so much fun to watch...reading the book or not..they are great movies...

Harry Potter is much better than Twilight. Twilight is a story that includes Vampires and Werewolves which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, the only historically correct fact about vampires and werewolves in the entire series is that they are natural enemies, however Stephenie Meyer has changed that so that it only REALLY applies to two clans, a clan of vampires, and a tribe of werewolves. Yes the werewolves don't like the other vampires but that's really only because they want to hurt Bella. Werewolves can neither stop aging, change into a werewolf when they want to, nor can they stop being a werewolf by not changing long enough. Vampires cannot survive on animal blood. The reason vampires are considered so dark and dangerous is because they feed on the blood of humans. Vampires don't sparkle, they die in the sunlight. The point is Twilight is full of mythological inaccuracies. Harry Potter's mythical creatures, however, are based on historical legends. The hypogriffs, the elves, dragons, giants, trolls, all of them were changed to to some degree to apply to Mrs. Rowling's stories, yes, but are still recognizable mythical creatures. Another thing, I was able to read one twilight book in less than a week because it just wasn't hard to read. There was no detail, no depth, to complicated or complex plot, just love obsessed teenagers. I may be able to read a Harry Potter book in three weeks, maybe a month, because the wording and complexity of the stories are more than that of Twilight. The lesson we learn from Twilight is that love is the most important, and you should do whatever harm to yourself just to be with the one you love. This is pathetic and an insult to anyone in a relationship, particularly women (thank you Bella). The lessons we learn from Harry Potter is that we can be brave and face our fears, intelligence is just as important as power in a battle, Size is no guarantee of power, we should not judge people by what they are but who they are, prejudices are not to be focused on, family and friendship is important, and to see the world with an open mind. There are so many more but I can't name them all. The world J.K Rowling created is beautiful and a place many want to go to and be a part of. What world did Stephenie Meyer create? Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, has been disgraced by Stephenie Meyer and her fairies she calls vampires. Bella can't stick up for herself, and Jacob and Edward are both pedophiles. So yes, Harry Potter is better than Twilight, no questions asked.

Twilight is a bit more mature than the Harry Potter series, so it appeals to different audiences. In my opinion, Twilight is much better, especially the books, and also, Harry Potter is a bit of a wimp and the films are a bit cheese on toast :S
