Eating problems. Normal?
I am 8-10 weeks pregnant (I dont know yet, I found out on October 6th and have my apt on November 10th to confirm) and I'm having eating problems. I used to have no problem eating, then when I moved to a new town I developed an eating disorder due to low self esteem and would barey eat.
After HS and moving away, I slowly started getting better, especialy after smokign weed. But the thing is I've always been small, I'm 5'2" 95 lbs and when I was eating healthy I got maybe to 100 before my eating disorder.
Before I got pregnant I could only eat an appetizer, lets fries and a bite of my burger, before getting full and I would eat maybe twice a day (so basically my whole day would consist of one persons lunch and a snack).
Now that I'm pregnant I cannot seem to eat anything. Nothing sounds appetizing and it's taking all I can to find anything that doesnt take me a good 15-20 minutes to get down. For instance today I ate two slices of pizza and then puked half of it up, and then went 6 hours without eating and then I ate a bowl of cereal then i went a few more hours and had two hotdogs...and that's sadly a good day for me.
I'm really concerned that if I dont start eating normally (because like I said I had eating problems before I got pregnant) my baby is not going to survive or have complications and even though I really dont want to have a kid at 20, all I want is a healthy baby.
I know it's normal to not have an appetite when you have morning sickness (which is all the time...my stomache is always in knots...is it cause I'm not eating well?) but I really need to learn how!! Any sugesstions? I know what I'm supposed to eat, but I never grew up in a family (my mom was a single mom who worked nights) where we were taught how to eat when to eat. I'm rambling I just dontknow what to do...

I think it's normal to have aversions like that when you're pregnant. I couldn't hardly eat in my first trimester, I had no problems with morning sickness, it's just that everything sounded disgusting. It's gotten a little better but I still have to force myself to eat at 18 weeks. The good thing is, is my baby is growing and the correct size, so hopefully the same will happen for you. Just make sure you get your prenatals down.

It sounds as though you have an eating problem. I think you should talk to your Mum and the GP about this. Your Mum be probably be amazed because I bet she thinks you are gorgeous anyway. I mean 10 stone isn't really that big. Talk it through, explain why you felt/feel you need the laxatives. Maybe you Mum could help by making sure there is plenty of salad at all meals, lots of water and maybe you could go swimming together which is a nice toning and slimming exercise. You only get one body - don't muck it up at age 16 for goodness sake - youn won't get another one. Talk it through - you'll be surprised how helpful Mums and GPs can be.

One question, are you depressed? Or maybe having alot of stress? When this happens to me, i dont like to eat. i am pregnant as well, 13 weeks in. What you are having is called food aversions. This is normal during pregnancy. If you can't seem to eat anything at all, ask your dr. are you throwing up? are you nauseous? maybe morning sickness is causing this? if so, ask your dr abt the vitamin B shot. this will help.
since you have a history of an eating disorder you MUST MUST MUST tell your doctor. they can and will get you help!!! As long as you seek help, your baby will be fine.

I am only 5 weeks pregnant and I cannot eat anything. My doctor says this is normal because of the many hormones going through our bodies. Your eating habits will pick up soon, You can also try eating small things at a time

You really should talk to your doctor. When I was at my worst, with the vomiting and food aversions, my main focus was to at least keep my prenatal down.
My doctor ended up giving me some meds to help with the vomiting. The food aversions were still there but at least, when I did eat it stayed down.
Make sure you tell your doctor everything. oh and since your worried about the baby's nutrition you might want to ask your doctor about prescribing you a prenatal.

Your doctor can give you really good advice as far as what you need to do and how to go about it. But as far as the fact that you had an eating disorder, I would not really go and follow any advice here because we are not professionals and that is what you need to base your information from.
