Word equation and balanced equation help!?

Zinc oxide (ZnO) can be reduced to zinc by heatingit in a furnace with carbon. Carbon monoxide (CO) is given off in the reaction. Write a word equations and a balanced equations for the reduction of zinc oxide.

    Zinc Oxide + Carbon result Zinc + carbon mono oxide

    The equation is already balanced

    I may be completely wrong, I have been out of school for a while lol, but I think that the answer is ZnO + C = Zn + CO it is already balanced.

    in a word equation you don't really write in the number of moles etc when i did chemistry gcse i didn't anyways at chemistry a level you'd add things like "di" "tri" "tetra" for molecules etc i.e. F3CH tri-fluromethane. but with moles you don't say it in a word equations, so like say with this: 2C2H6 + 7O2 --> 6H2O + 4CO2 theres 2 moles of C2H6, 7 moles of O2 6 moles of H2O and 4 moles of CO2. you wouldn't say the moles, you'd just say: Ethane + Oxygen --> Water + Carbon Dioxide. i don't know if this helps? xxx
