Which country do you think produces the best boxers and why ?
I think Mexico because it was a case of fight to survive.Their best chance of riches and their natural physique was perfect for the lighter weight divisions. Many of the best boxers were Mexican or of Mexican descent over the years
A lot of the American great boxers like Oscar De La Hoya( who looks Mexican) were of Mexican decent

The TOP 10 BOXING POWERHOUSES!
(this is not based on the number of titles but based on boxing success by individual performance or current p4p statusese not marketing)
1. MEXICO. Mexico has an astonishing 11 champions! Mexico is the best boxing country in the world. I have no doubt about that. If we are talking about talent not marketing, Mexico tops the list with 11 current champions. The most popular champions today are guys including JMM, Edgar Sosa, Garcia, De Leon, Vasquez, Solis, Montiel, Rojas, Cristobal Cruz, Humberto Soto. 3 Mexicans alone are in the p4p ranking with JMM, Rafael Marquez, and Vasquez!
2. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. USA has 10 champions. They also have the most popular, not necessarily the most fans. Can you honestly tell me Mayweather has more fans than Hatton, Klitschko, or Pacquiao in a global scale? But their most popular champions are Mosley, Luevano, Guerrero, Hopkins, Berto, Paul Williams, Spinks, Bradley, and Pavlik.
3. THE PHILIPPINES. A total of 10 champions, beating any country in the world except Mexico and USA. Two of its fighters, Donnaire and Pacquiao are in the P4P ranking. Its current champions (only with credible and recognized titles like IBF, WBO, WBC, WBA, etc.) are Donnie Nietes, Pacquiao, Viloria, Donnaire, Sonsana, Penalosa, Florante Contes, Bernabe Conception, Rexon Flores, an Z Gorres. Plus you have Manny Pacquiao the universally best boxer today p4p.
4. PUERTO RICO. Puerto Rico with 5 champions= Calderon is in the top 20 best fighter in the world today, Cotto is in the top 10. Juan Ma Lopez, Santos and Roman Gonzalez are rising stars. Cotto brings Puerto Rico at 4 eventhough the Isla Bonita only has 5 champions. Cotto being in the top 10 plus considered by many as the real welterweight champion makes every Puerto Rican proud of him.
5. UKRAINE. Ukraine has 7 champions and the top 1 & 2 ranked best heavyweight fighter in the world, Wladimir #1 and Vitali #2. Wladimir Sidorenko, Dzinziruk, Senchenko, the Klistchko brothers Andreas Kotelnik, and Yuriy Nuzhnenko are recognized champions.
6. VENEZUELA. Venezuala has 7 with Valero, Acosta, Urango, Munoz, Cermeno, Maidana and Linares. Valero is a rising star, and has KO everyone he come across.
7. JAPAN. Japan has a total of 6 recognized champions by IBF, WBO, WBC, WBA likeNatio, Hasegawa, Nashiro, Nishioka, Sakata, and Niida. These guys are not only champions but champions with multiple belts.
8. GERMANY. Germany has 5 champions. The only one known is Feliz Sturm and he has overshadowed other German champions like Zbik, Stieglitz, Braehmer, and Huck.
9. THAILAND Thailand has 4 recognized champions in Oleydong Sithsamerchai, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, Denkaosan Kaovichit, and Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym.
10. PANAMA. Panama has 4 champions, Guillermo Jones, Moreno, Conception, and one of my favorite fighters today, Celestino Caballero.
Very close to make it and deserves credit:
United Kingdom, 3 champions in Froch, Khan, and Arthur.
Argentina has 4, with Narvaez, Martinez, Reveco, and Maidana.
By the way Russia only has one recognized champion by the WBC, IBF, Ring, WBO, or WBA. Valuev is the champion, the Klitschko brothers are not Russians!
Edit: PAcquiao and Donaire are above in rankings than any Puerto Rican boxers. No I am not biased, Philippines recorded 10 champions an all time record tied with USA. I am speaking of the present circumstances but if the person asked all time then Puerto Rico is above. But right now, ask any real boxing fan here, in 2009 , who has better boxers, Philippines or Puerto Rico? 10 champions vs 5 champions? 2 Filipinos are in the p4p list and only 1 from Puerto Rico, do your math, troll? and how come you agreed with me Mexico is no.1 yet you criticized me when i put the Philippines? Why didnt i hear any compliments for that? u r just a hater, a poser, and a troll! You want to defend your race but you hate those who are not the same like you.

Most definitely Mexico. Just the sheer volume of fighters that come from Mexico makes Mexico number one.

When it comes to Professional Boxing it's USA,UK and Mexico,it is a pick em up question,if you consider the population of all these countries, you need to check ratios as well because USA is over 300 million and UK what 60? or Mexico?I do not remember now!
When it comes to Amateur boxing then it's Russia,Ukraine,USSR (With the form it had back then) and Cuba which has the best ratio for sure!If you see it as a region on the map of the world, then it's Eastern Europe by thousand miles (In last Olympics and world Amateur games they made almost an 80% of medals while they made only 15% of participation) !
Now if you wanna check this by records or statistics there are countries which have special interest as Armenia which produces so many champions (in men and women) and elite boxers while it's so small and also your country Wales even though so small it has produce so many great champions!
To close this i will mention my country (the main one lol) which holds a unique record i think!
Professional boxing in Greece is banned from 1896, when the modern Olympics started because it was considered that the country which gave birth to Olympics which are supposed to honor the spirit of sportsmanship, could not allow such a barbaric sport to take place for the money (They considered and still do that Professional boxing is non human because they put 2 men fight for the money which is humiliating for the human nature)
If you ever wondered how we produce so many world champions in kick boxing,Judo, Olympic wrestling and Taekwondo at Olympics but not in boxing i just explained the reason now ;)
But the interesting thing is this:
The only 2 Greeks who left Greece to turn Professionals under the Greek flag not another nation, they both became champions,Antuan Cristoforidis and Mike Arnaoutis, even the French Boxing encyclopedia includes that record,so officially Greece is the only country with 100% success in Professional boxing (lol of course that is a very very twisted record and means nothing, but i had to mention it lol)

JON is sooooooooo full of sh!t, how can you put Philippines as number 3 and have PR at 4? You biased piece of sh!t !
Aside from Pacquiao and overrated Donaire, who else do you guys have? That bum bum Bautist guy? Puhlease... Filipinos are not that significant in boxing.
Seriously, how can you place Philippines on top of Puerto Rico? Those guys have a rich boxing history, you guys only started to watch boxing a couple years ago.
And to answer teh questions, Yeah. Mexico is number 1 p4p boxing country. Why? because we are warriors, we got Aztec blood running through our veins.
