Talking on the bus vs. iPod?

Question

I regularly ride the bus to work.  On a few occasions, a random passenger will have his/her iPod on loud enough so that the driver can hear it through their earphones . (it is not blaring like a radio at full volume.)  The driver will ask the passenger to turn it down.  

However, loud conversations between passengers are not adressed by the driver  (not yelling, but loud enough so that everyone on the bus, including the driver, can obviously hear.) 

Frankly, I'd rather only slightly hear music through someones earphones, than hear passengers talking loudly.

Any thoughts ?

Either way, it's annoying.

And since the bus driver has the prerogative to decide which is more annoying to them...they get to make the call.

If I was a bus driver...I can't say which I'd find more bothersome. Some days, might be the iPods, somedays, people.

The part where you say it is annoying to have to hear someones conversation just goes to show you are so wrong. I rode the buses for more than 26 + years and you can tune them out. As for the music,we all like different kinds and I personally hate rap and hard rock. I find it hard to sit there and be quiet when they talk about slapping some ho and killing someone or fighting with someone. That isn't music to me,its preaching violence and hatred and bigotry.If you brought a book,or your own headphones,you wont hear people. The volume goes away once you are occupied with something else.

i would rather hear the ipod vs ppl talking!!! 
i do like all types of music tho...but i cant stand listening to ppl talk..wow that makes me sound bad..its just that listenint to strangers personal convos is just annoying
