can bad spark plugs cause knock sensor to give bad or faulty reading?
i have a 2001 chevy tahoe and last week my service engine soon light went on and a day later my battery died so i changed it then i noticed the headlights flicker but not dim. so i got the alternator checked. i then took it to a local advance auto parts and tested the alternator after taking it out and it read okay. they then plugged it into the computer and it stated that the knock sensor was bad. i have approx 80000 miles on it with the original plugs it runs fine but looses power quickly without bogging and stays on and never stalls. any opinions?
i was thinking it was the fuel filter at first but changed it. i use regular always have with no problems.

The knock sensor can be diagnosed bad,if the plugs are, that is true. However, with 80000 miles,i would replace both anyway, just to be sure.

NO, spark plugs will not cause knock or a false knock detection.
At 80k, the most they will do is missfire...which I'll bet they are.
They need to be changed anyway just from mileage, then clear codes, duplicate problem and diagnose from there.
Explain: It runs fine...but loses power quickly?!? And without bogging?!?
If it runs fine, then it runs fine. If it loses power then it's bogging. What exactly is it doing? Are the headlights still flickering?
