Why would ABC put on V the miniseries to conflict with NCIS?

This just seems like they want the miniseries to fail. There are many other days and time slots that would be much better than 8PM on Tuesday, to conflict with the most popular show on TV.

I also wonder which one I should tell the TiVo to record, since I really like NCIS but I would like to see V, maybe record the first episode and see how I like it or just find it online in a few days?

♥ NCIS is the number 1 show on CBS. It has an extremly large viewing audience (followers & fans). I don't think it will even take away a few NCIS avid viewers. I'm a major fan of NCIS and nothing interferes with my Tuesday night 8 pm NCIS episode! =] My suggestion is watch NCIS, catch V online the following day to see if you even like it.

And to the person who said NCIS is for kids... the average viewer age is around 56 although 18-29 have increased over 23% since last season as well

EDIT: Thanks for the thumbs down, but if they are b/c of the statistics then I think you'd better read some of the interviews on NCIS (LA Times, TV Guide, Tv.com, etc.). That is where I got my factual statistics. They aren't made up numbers.

Competition is heavy for the dollar. Networks have always put their heavy hitters against one another. I too will have to wait for the off-season reruns.

It has always been this way. I've been watching for 50 years.

Now if you have Time Warner Cable, go to 1009 (Free Prime Time on Demand) and you can see NCIS and NCIS LA the day after the episodes air. ABC won't do that, but it does mean you have an easier choice.

They'll both be all over the internet a day or so after they air. I doubt V will even affect NCIS much. It's the top show right now.

RATINGS! Its all bout the ratings. It aint gonna put a dent in NCIS' viewers though.
