What is the value of a human being?

The truth is, not all people are made equal. So, what exactly do we measure humanity with? Do we favor physical strength? Or height? Perhaps mental prowess might be more favorable? Please discuss.

I'm going to say that "Potential" is the value of a person. That is why a child is so precious. A child has unlimited potential so when we hear of a child being hurt, people consider that more of a tragedy than an adult being hurt. Nobody blinks an eye if a 80 year old person get hurts or dies.

So it's all in potential value. It's not only calibrated on age, but by location and class. People hear that a child in the ghetto is gunned down and they think that is awful. They here that an upper middle class white child is gunned down in his neighborhood, then every police officer from 3 counties comes to help in the investigation. The higher class child has more perceived potential than the lower class child. this also holds true for what country the child lives in.

And what is the "potential" to or for? Anything you can imagine. A child can grow up to cure cancer or be an astronaut or president. We don't know where that child's potential could lead him. It could lead him to be a mass murderer. We just don't know but we hope and pray for the best and that also adds value.

Humans have no price. We praise everyone for their own unique talents and don't put any above the rest. To survive we must must have multiple people working together combining their strengths. The feature we favor depends on the job that needs to be done.

Well, elementally, your body is probibly worth about 5 dollars worth of materials.

But hey, if all of your body parts are left intact, it could be worth about 45 million in the black market.

That of course, was a joke. I know what you mean, I know exactly what you mean, the price of a human life....

Like a snowflake...how can you rate that beauty that is integreally unique to humanity? The answer is, that a value cannot be placed on it. Not that it is infinite in worth, but that it is invalueable or immesurable.

The will to live without causing another person harm. Their psychological mind is the key value; their physical attributes are just add-ons.

As measured in / against what?

    Who is "we"?

    Discuss it with whom?

It's all relative to you, your particular point(s) of view and value system. I place no value on human beings, they are invaluable to me.

For me, the value of a human being is over 9000.
