HP printer black ink not printing problem?
I am trying to find out if anyone has a solution to my problem.
I have an HP officejet pro L7555 that I bought in Feb 09. Recently the black ink stops printing. I keep cleaning the print heads and it is fine for awhile but if I don't use for for about 12 hours it stops printing again. Of course each cleaning uses ink and I have already gone through 2 ink cartridges.
The diagnostics says the print heads are good. the printer has only printed about 800 pages total.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

If you are not using HP branded cartridge the issues is that you have an inferior cartridge. The print head should not be clogging in under 12 hours unless you are keeping the printer in an EXTREMELY dirty environment. However you would literally have to be operating the printer in a dust storm in order to have cartridges malfunctioning that often.

Use the printer software to do some " ink purging" if it still does not help then it might be a problem in ur printer not the ink cart. BTW, did the printer prompt to replace the ink cart in the first place. If there wasn't any prompt - did u take out the cart and compare the weight with a new one. Was it very light or not so much ?? Chances are the old cart still has ink left in it !!

You should be able to manually clean the print head. This doesn't use any ink, all you need to do is get some rubbing alcohol and q-tips. Remove the cartridge, dip a q-tip in alcohol, and clean all the contact surfaces in there. That should fix it.
Hope that helps! :

when my ink gets plugged, i take it out and shake them 10-12 times instead of doing the cleaning thing. works great and i don't use any ink.
