Problems with your thyoid can effect many parts of the body. It can cause your body to slow down or speed up. It depends on if your hyperthyroid or hhypothyroid Obviously you talked to a doctor to see what was wrong to get the diagnoses autoimmune. I would go see a endocrinologist for this as that is their area of medicine. There are medicines for thyroid. A endocrinologist is very good at figure this area of the body out and helping to answer your questions and get you on the right track of what you need to do. Thyroid problems can effect so many areas of the body. It can effect your sleep, hair, nails, heart, digestive system, nervous system, make you either too hot or too cold, very tired and ffatigued Hopefully you can get into a doctor for this soon and get it all resolved to what works best for you.
Best of luck to you,
Shar
