Wondering about military and step parents...?

My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married. I have 2 kids from a previous relationship, does anyone know how the military would cover us as a family if the kids aren't his?? We have talked about him adopting them, which might be a possibility.. But we would have to be married one year according to my state laws... thanks for any info!

Update:

yes they do live with me..

As long as you're married it should count. I don't see why it wouldn't. If they don't count it, just have him talk to his commanding officer and see if they can work something out.

If the kids live with you, they are covered.

If they do not live with you, they are not covered.
