how do you clean milk out of carpets so that there is no smell?

my son spilt a whole gallon of milk on my carpet and mattress. how do i get it out?

    STEAM CLEAN IT!!!!!! ugh if you dont it is going to stink really bad! I would do it ASAP also!

    Try baby wipes. Lots of baby wipes. Scented.
