What up Ariza Beast 1,
Welcome back!
Ariza and the Rockets have been impressive and in all honesty i think both teams benefitted from the respective moves. Ariza is a centerpiece for the Rockets who one wonders whethe they wil re-sign Yao or McGrady when 2010 rolls around-- i think they try to build around Ariza, Brooks, Scola, Landry and see if they can entice a few big name free agents to sign with them. Maybe they re-sign Yao but def. not Tracy.
i think some Laker fans are saying we told you so- should have kept Ariza - esp. because Artest is not producing offensively. But i think Artest is fitting in just fine and he contributes in so many other ways- which will esp. be noticed in a 7 game series- i think the expectations were so high for the Lakers-- but the Lakers are still figuring things out- and i think they miss Pau more than they want to admit- although it's great to see Odom picking up where he left off in the playoffs last year- and Bynum continuing to improve.
In the end i think both teams will benefit.
Also i do not understand fans who say it's the Lakers who chose Artest over Ariza. They made Ariza an offer first and Ariza listened to his agent who tried to play hard-ball with the Lakers and i think they would have re-signed Ariza had Ariza accepted their max offer.
