What is the best time of year to visit London?
Thinking of visiting London sometime next year, April at the earliest, for about five days. I know there really isn't an "off season" per se, but are there times where demand for lodging is reduced, and I might find lower prices? I'm going alone, my needs aren't that great, and so I'd like to put my money into enjoying myself rather than inflated hotel rates.
Weather really isn't a factor. I don't mind rain, I live in Florida, so I'm used to that. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure about prices and I know you're not really concerned with weather, but spring time is pretty nice in London. If you end up going you should go around then.

I know you say Weather isn't really a factor, but maybe you should think twice. London has wind, rain and freezing temperatures. Even during summer when the sun is out it rains. Weather in England is by far miserable. It de motivates you to do anything. Sometimes bringing an umbrella is useless because it rains side ways due to the wind.
As for the financial side of it, lodging is never reduced. Maybe slightly, but it is so futile there's really no point in planning your trip around that. London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Yes, London has a va va voom factor but you definitely don't get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong, you can live a very pleasurable life so long as your wealthy.

April through October, otherwise it's guaranteed to be wet and raining - and London is a foul place on a cold rainy day. Avoid school holidays.

It's not just rain; the UK is freezing in the winter.
it's pretty busy in the summer, especially in London, so April isn't bad.

I've never been to London it's so nice of you to plan a trip for us. Oh wait I just read the details...you're going alone. =( Oh well I'd rather go to Bangkok and Phuket anyway I hear the naughty massages and hookers are cheap there.
Squeeze the palace guards nipples for me and bring me back a magnet.

Autumn is pretty good - still not too cold, and the colours are amazing - falling leaves, clouds, etc.
