i would like to know about a driver's license?

currently i have a mexican driver's license, i haven't go get my texas driver's license, i heard that i could just exchange my current license for a texas dl, is that true, or i have to take the test in order to get it? i know it sounds stupid but if it is tru i can save some time

    http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver... clearly states you can exchange a valid license from another STATE for your Texas license. It doesn't say you can exchange a license from another country though.

    That probably means you start with the learners permit and then test to get a TX license. To do that, see http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver... because new rules are in effect where you must prove lawful status if you aren't a citizen.

    No it is not true...... You must have a Texas license and you must go through the entire licensing process
